Wells Fargo Center is the host of the most recent UFC 133 event. The most exciting truth about the UFC 133 is the fact that we will probably be seeing the most notable mma fighters and contenders from the light heavyweight and middleweight divisions. The main co-event of the evening is the Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort vs Yoshihiro Akiyama, while the icing on the cake is the main event – Ortiz versus Evans 2. You can view the entire fight movie on the web for free. There’s no need for spending money on the pay per view. Although, if you’re a true UFC fan, you will support Zuffa. The Evans vs . Ortiz 2 match up commentary is going to be split into3 elements.
The stand up element is the first in a row. There’s a huge advantage for Rashad Evans in this element. Stand up clinches are his specialty and he just does not lose stand up battles. His only exception to the perfect stand up record is Lyoto Machida, though Lyoto’s and Tito’s styles are greatly different. Tito has quite a weak stand up and I don’t believe he improved it enough. This is exactly why Rashad will win the stand up clashes most of the time in this match up. If he is in a position to connect a few combinations, he might just drop Ortiz. Tito can win the fight on feet only when he transitions to the ground by hurling overhands instantly followed by take down efforts.
The clinching element of this fight is going to be decisive one. Even though Rashad is a much more explosive guy I do not know how he will be able to deal with the Tito Ortiz that beat Ryan Bader. In fact, Tito made Bader seem like an amateur in the UFC 132 fight. Short distance punches, mainly jabs, will be a massive problem for Rashad if he chooses to allow the fight get into a very close range. Short range clashing and punching is the niche of Ortiz, kinda like Randy Couture. Ground aspect will be the last portion we are addressing in this prediction commentary.
As much as I do like Rashad Evans, I’d be really one-sided to give him the advantage in the ground department. Tito’s effectiveness comes from his strong ground and pound. There is nothing to be said about the Ortiz vs . Bader fight. Ryan Bader is widely considered to be the top contender in the light heavyweight division; yet, Ortiz made him look like a complete newbie. Even Though I’ll make some of you Evans fans irritated, I will say that Ortiz is a better technical wrestler than Rashad Evans. It’s a really dangerous thing to be under the arms and hands of Tito Ortiz. Tito is just too harmful if he gets the chance to use his elbows and arms. Also, the opportunity for a choke might emerge.
To finalize my commentary, I believe Rashad will win this fight in the third round or by means of unanimous decision. When we add all things, Evans is really a better, more hungry fighter than Tito Ortiz. But it’s not a great idea to count Tito off, no matter what. Tito has his strong aspects such as wrestling and ground and pound. If he defends successfully versus Rashad’s stand up attacks, and takes Rashad down, he will win this fight( although I don’t see it happening ). Be sure to watch the Evans vs . Ortiz 2 fight video and find out for yourself.
