Keith Richard’s audio book telling the story of his life, in an aptly titled book “Life”, has been named as the Audio Book of the Year for 2011 by the Audies. The Audies is the Audio Publishers Assocations version of the Oscars. They nominate different audio books in different categories and then select winners for each category and overall.
Life won for best biography and then it won for best overall audio book of the year. Also nominated for best audiobook were Woody Allen’s audio book called The Woody Allen Collection (Allen narrates this one himself) and Richard Riordon’s The Red Pyramid.
Richard’s story was narrated by the author with support from Johnny Depp and Joe Hurley. The quality of the narration surely helped push this book right up to the top of the list of audio books worth listening to this year.
Life was also named Amazon’s audio book of the year for 2010. Congratulations to Keith.
