Friday, October 21st, 2011

It’s a good thing that nowadays there is a wide selection of wireless baby monitors to help you monitor your baby. There are monitors that come with video features where you can watch your baby all the time and there are those with audio features where you can talk to your baby to assure him that he is not alone in the room. Sometimes your baby only needs to hear your voice to go back to sleep or to stop crying; the audio monitor is perfect for this.

There are also models that are very sensitive to sounds; it can pick up all the sounds coming from the room. You’ll know instantly if your baby is awake or if his breathing has become irregular. This monitor is great for parents who are on a budget. It’s not as expensive as those with audio and video features but it alerts you instantly if your baby needs you.

What to Look for when Buying Baby Swings

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

When buying baby toys, there are some very important factors that you should consider before purchasing one. According to statistics, many babies are taken to emergencies because of injuries sustained when swinging. So before you purchase a baby swing, there are some factors that you need to consider. One of the factors is safety of your child. Most of the swings in the market today are battery operated but you can get the cranked one too. With either a windup or a battery operated one what is more important is the safety of your child. They must have a solid base to a void tipping and also make sure that the seat is safe. Make sure that the adjustable belts cannot be released which can cause the fall-out of the baby. A safe and a good baby swing must have waist and crotch safety belts which prevent your baby from sliding out.

I Can See Too

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

I do not live my life in the pursuit of things, and I do not really think owning too many things makes me truly happy. But that being said, there are a few things in my past that hold a value that could not be bought. For example, my old wooden high chair comes to mind. Or I guess I should not really say it is mine, because it belonged to my father before me, and his mother before him. Those things that hold an age to them, and a history that is known, tie us as a family together. I have a few old things in the house, but that is one of my favorites. As we wait for our own little one to arrive, it is fun to picture my dad peeking up over the edge of the table in that chair, grinning with birthday cake smeared ear to ear, as in the picture in our scrapbook.

The Benefits of Nursing Covers and Nursing Shawls

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

Nursing coversand nursing shawls play a great role in keeping the modesty of new moms intact as she breastfeed in public or around public gatherings and events. This is because both nursing covers and nursing shawls hid her nursing babe and her exposed breast from public view. In addition covers and shawls are designed to also hide the post natal belly of new moms which many are extremely mindful to be seen in public. Furthermore nursing babes were highly noted to nurse longer and even sleep quickly for longer periods when they are enclosed inside either a nursing cover or a nursing shawl. This is because both nursing shawls and nursing covers separate the baby it covers from outside distractions that prevent him or her to concentrate on nursing. For fashion forward mom, they need not worry that wearing either a nursing cover or a nursing shawl is going to crimp her style because both cover and shawl comes in a variety of designs suited for any occasion and personal style.

Baby Bouncers for Five Month Old Babies

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

I think, a 5 month-old baby does not need the best baby swing. What I think is best for him is the best baby rocker or bouncer. These babies are more active compared to a two to three-month old babies who do nothing but sleep 60% of their time and stare and drool at you when they are awake. Babies who are more active or animated and much stronger are more prone into rocking the swing until he tilts himself off the swing. Regardless of the safety harness that hold the baby in place, it only aggravates the situation as it will only make the entire swing fall on top of him. It is so unimaginable. I wouldn’t want that to happen to my own kid. A baby rocker which is more suitable for babies strong enough to rock himself is equipped in bouncing which lulls the baby back to sleep after he is finished with his playing with the hanging toys.

Why Buy the Best Baby Monitor

Monday, February 28th, 2011

A baby monitor is a device produced with the intention of providing safety and security to young children and infants, while providing a sense of relief to the parent or guardian thereof. The ability to hear a baby at all times regardless of which room of the house you are in is certainly an appealing concept and provides freedom which would be otherwise impossible while providing 24/7 supervision. Therefore, it is advised that you always select the best baby monitor possible to ensure this sense of security is not unfounded. Cheaper models may seem attractive options due to their affordability and subsequent replacement costs, but should the monitor fail or break down without the knowledge of the parent, the infant could well be left unsupervised for an undetermined amount of time. Thus, it is always best to do a little research and opt for a tried, tested and trusted model.
