Having a good driving records means that one can have higher deductibles. When increasing a deductible a sensible driver will have no risk at all while receiving low cost auto insurance. Even if the fault is not of the policy holder, the deductibles are reimbursed by the auto insurance carrier of the guilty party. I am way past the time during which people usually get their license. Many people asked me why I chose to not have one and the answer is quite simply, but surprising for many: I do not like cars. I do not feel very safe in them and I also think it is a good thing to do for the planet. Not only it is good for the planet when I walk, use my bike or use public transport, it is also good for me. Don’t Forget the Dentist!

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

Everyone should have dental insurance for themselves and their family. Even if your work doesn’t offer it, it is important to have, which could mean looking into dental insurance plans over the internet. Fortunately, these companies have websites which make it easy to look into buying supplemental dental insurance.

Most people have a certain dentist that they like to go to. If you’re going to be selecting a new plan, you should make sure that your particular provider is one that they reimburse fully. Some dentists are usually in-network for particular providers, and others are out-of-network, resulting in decreased coverage and greater out-of-pocket costs for you. The listing of providers that are in-network is usually on a company’s website, and should be reviewable by you before you ever sign up for their insurance.

There are, of course, other considerations that should be made before selecting an actual plan, but this is one important factor that can immediately eliminate some companies from consideration.

Michigan Health Insurance Company Has a Very Special Offer for Women

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Finding a Michigan Health Insurance Company is a piece of cake if you log on to the internet because there are many good companies that will provide you with a quote. Depending on the cover you require and your budget, there are many different plans offered by companies such as Aetna, Celtic, Cigna Humana etc, all of which have a good reputation and a fine track record when it comes to claim payments. This however does not mean that you should not take a look at other companies available online because some of them might be able to offer you exactly what you need in the way of healthcare at affordable rates.

Whoever is trying to get health insurance for the first time should ensure that they answer the questionnaire provided by the company in a truthful and open manner. Any health issues they have and existing problems should be revealed because this would be to their advantage in the long term. If your Insurance company finds out that you have lied, you stand to loose not only your benefits but also any expenses incurred for various medical issues you have paid for expecting to be reimbursed. Since the many health insurance plans provided by the State of Michigan are very flexible, you can discuss with your insurance provider to have them designed anyway you like. If there are certain clauses you think are not necessary for you, you can have them taken out which is one way of bringing your premiums down.

Women in Michigan have a special advantage in obtaining health insurance because after they reach the age of 40, they become automatically entitled to get a mammogram done every year. Everyone should make use of this opportunity which is not offered in other states and therefore should consider themselves fortunate. Another benefit that Michigan insurance companies offer their clients is the lowering of their premium if smokers quit their habit or if obese clients loose weight. Those who maintain a gym membership are also eligible to a discount, all of which makes a Michigan Health Insurance Company a good place to get your insurance from.

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

When you run a small business out of your home, you may want to talk to your home insurance Phoenix agent. They can help you discuss what types of coverage you need to add onto your homeowner’s policy. There are two that you want to put on the top of your list to discuss. The first is an additional liability policy. You may already have general liability on your policy, but you may need to add additional coverage if you have people coming to your home for business. Maybe you are a makeup artist and your clients come into your home for services. If they developed an infection from the product you use, they may find you liable. Check with your agent to see if your standard liability covers this. Next is disability insurance. If you are self-employed and are unable to work due to a medical condition or accident, you would need insurance for income replacement. Discuss both of these with your agent.

Unfamiliar Insurance Markets

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

Once I was talking to my friend who works at the phoenix life insurance company, and he happened to mention that he was thinking of opening up his own office. People from all walks of life are interested in life insurance, and you never know what kind of niche market you are going to uncover. For example, I knew this guy that sold insurance door to door, and he was really good at convincing people that they really needed some good insurance, otherwise some really bad things might happen to them. I suppose when people think about things like this, they can’t help but to understand that the more they put this off, the more expensive it is going to get. Insurance, especially life insurance is something you need to buy early, so you know you’ll have plenty of good coverage down the line. I know that doesn’t make much economical sense to most people, but that’s just the kind of way the insurance markets are set up.

It Costs More to Live in the City

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

The best thing about living in my home town is that its such a great place to grow up. Everybody knows your name and there are still some small stores that aren’t run by giant corporate conglomerates. I loved living there and really wanted to one day raise a family of my own in that place. But, after I got married my wife and I realized that if we wanted to earn a decent salary we were going to have to move to a larger city with more to offer. This meant a lot of changes for our family. We were going to have to give up our low rent apartment and cheap car insurance rates for the high cost of living in an urban area. Luckily, our new jobs pay a lot more money to help offset the difference. I still miss that town I was raised in and hope to one day retire in it.
